F1 Circus 080407

First Off ( and I am really gutted myself): Really sorry for the lost of the pics, gone were that of the posh pics at the K.L. towers and makan with the Curtin crew at lalachung (erm, yea.. seafood place across the old Subang terminal 3) as well as the pics from the mahmak place (direct translation would mean a coffeeshop opened by a indian muslim) somewhere near metro College....

Anyways, yes, was up in K.L. over the weekend for the F1, and too be honest with you, I know some people would kill me for this, there wasn't treally much to it. For one reason this would have been my third time witnessing this racing spectacle and hence there wasn't much of an "Ooh Aah" factor in witnessing this rather awesome sight.

I think it was teh thril of teh first few times witnessing this that didn't make me feel that the ride to the rack would be such a bitch. I think it took as twice as long as the race itself to get there and back to civilsation.

In other words, there wasn't much of a race, it was only an hour and half and well, no one crashed either... haha..

Me, being a damp squib shall continue, for teh fact is that my team didn't win! maybe thats why I didn't feel the buzz perhaps, but really, the buzz does hit you when you just hear the raw engine of these racing bullets, sleek as they are.....

And tot hink we had quite good seats to witness some driver falling a sleep for amoment and doing something absurd on the first chicane, but als that wasn't to be.

As the race itself was much of, the crowd didecide to have a little fun, by heckling the lead car to drive slower and cheering the tailenders. One and a half hours and 52 laps later, the race was over.

And so it finished:
  1. Mercedes McClaren
  2. Mercedes McMcClaren
  3. Ferreri (whi was pole by the way, but decided to take a siesta when the lights turned from red to green).

Ah yes, everytime when I do go up to K.L., this scarlet beauty would be the crown jewels and good thing it's still there, this K-500 Benz.

usually, this F1 weekend would involve certain dignatories and bigwigs on my father's part, the wekend had no exception as he was hosting the Governor of Guam.

And as most people in high places would be, as the ones that I have come across, they tend to be very unassuming and genuinely down to earth (picyired down below, second from right). The Governor, and his entourage was a good laugh, joking about their families, ribbing into each other, the usual banter...

But alas, the weekend came and wnt and alas monday came, and it was time to hop in the Aeroline Coach (free plugg'n here: highly recommended, check out the Mlalaysian site if you're travelling from S'pore for the loophole).
