stoned

Now Playing: Verve/Unmixed: Ella Fitzgerald - Smack That Bass

There are friends who claim that I write better entries when I'm stoned, which I am naturally in anycase, like I am now. Slept for 3 hours, was pleasantly woken up though ... ;o)

Well, I'm stoned and the fingers aren't seemed to be clicking as such... It's really funny how life has it's way of equally itself up .. the ying the yang .. karma...

Audio soundbites of Lush is getting to be abit of a laugh in a very bad way ...

Au Contrare

Now Playing: Blank & Jones - The Remix

*AHEM*

The contradiction occured within a massive 24 hrs. As I may shamelssly name drop now, was at Poppy Passion (Liquid Room'ish, had this outdooe Thai restuarant cum dancefloor late on ... ibteresting yet hot..), and was also at Jungle (Ang Moh's neverending quest to find his SPG and other exotic species...).

Bizarrely enough, was stone sober after the night's end (14 drinks at lasy count). Which is rather weird considering a night on the town with Mr. Party Animal Extraordinaire would either lead to walk aimlessly without a clue or n passed out at a driveay of some nightspot (once is good enough thank you very much ...). I live to tell the tale...

Thoughts:
  • why do small things always bug me? 'towels' ... gawd...
  • that visitor counter on friendster, didin't really imagine that many people would e browsing through mine. Ah well, a subtle massage of the ego won't kill .. heheh ...
  • '1One'??? Dreaming is a start .. ambitions.. ambitions ... sigh ...

B U R N T ...

On The Boombox: Marc Almond - Open All Night

This is gonna be my second time writing this entry so it better work...

Anywho, my cycadian rytmn's gone ack to my normal standrad I reckon, woke up at the wee hours of 11 a.m. (shudder!!) and even before the alarm clock went (shocker!!) .. in deed, am almost human... (one corny paragraph ... ;p)

It's a Thurdays night, bored tired 'coos the damn flu is upon thee. Which does give the alternative reason that I'm actually in, the other being that I'm somewhat chargrilled from this tribal tradition that is the Singapore Nightlife, or there lack of.

Well, this somehwat burning a hole in my pocket excercise has occupied most of my weejends and Wednesday nights for close to half a decade now.

Thhink I'm getting ol' as I would quote a good friend of mine. For the majority of adoescence turning 18 was the passport to fully experience everything and anyting. To me it was to experience a new angle in socialising (was somewhat naive at the bbeginning) the thumping vibes of club music, blending every element that goes into this intoxificating concoction. Oh, and to a vertain degree, to be seen and name drop?

Now I guess it's more of a social gathering; to catech up with friends to see what's up. After awhile it just seems kinda passe and it concludes to meeting up elsewhere.

And well, when a good deejay comes in, it's usually filled up by idiots who just waste space so as to say that they were there, and not knowing what the hell the set was about. Sad thing is that this isle only has like 3 or 4 clubs that can be even be called a club, rest of the shitho;les are just a joke. The bar's are good but unfortunately it does suffer the same sympthons in my view.

Ah well, would be nice to do something else which isnothing at this point,. this whole entry would probably be a contradiction in a week or so ... heheh

$#&% IT!

Now playing: Fastball - Outta My Head

ARGH!! DAMN BLOG!! 'SERVER CAN'T BE FOUND' MY ARSE!!! hate it when this happens after writing for lke half an hour and the damn server crashes ... ^%$&!!!

Random thoughts.. again... what else??

7 a.m., now playing: The Best of The Doors

Shite man, why can't I sleep like any other normal human being at 12 and wake up at 9 a.m. and NOT 3 loody 30 a.m. ... GAWD!!!

Well, finally got a couple of new tunes to soove the soul. Collection was getting abit stale. Am bordering between my usual chilled fusion/nu/Afro-Cuban/Bossa Nova stuff: Sergio Mendes, Bobby Matos, Nicola Conte (CDs RIP PROF!!!! .. can't get it into my nomad.. ah nuts...), Gilles Peterson Worldwide series (good stuff).

Hip Hop wise, there is life after Tupac, seriously all this bloody bullshit about hoes, Escalades, Ice and Bling'n sounds just so shallow in the end though 'tis good partying music to get wild to, and what's with is shitty ass excuse they're trying to pass off as dancehall??? SHEESH!! Saving grace; immortal Technique: Thought provoking street poetry; rough, loud and so muthafuck'n in ye face, the way it was meant to be ....

Going ack to my 'roots'?? Good ol' fashion rock music. Seriously, record labels got 'em self to blame for even siging shit ass bands that are considered rock', dig ye ears mate!! aniwayz .. Franz ferdinand (refreshing!! finally gotaround to it), Razor Light, The Doors (say no more), Interpol (intellectually stimulating R.E.M.'ishh), U2 (SERIOUSLY?? sad to say but sounds as though they're just reusing their old chords and rifts) .. still awaiting Casebian(???), will try out The Bees, The Doves and blah blah lah to come into Rhapsody ...

:ushh 99.5 fm .. good stuff but so obviously pretencious, yuppie'ish and RaRa'ish as well... least there's something worth listening to on the radio besides the World Service ...

And that'll be all for Ian's ranting, rambling and pretenciously namedropping (you know damn right I ain't) music review .. stay tuned ...

been around the perimeters of Orcahrd Towers (yea you've hheard me) ut actually entering into the infamous CRAZY HORSE, well, welcome to Singapore Mr Lucas Herald ... hahah ... we should've just shut our traps mate!!

I thought a shrink was suppose to be good ttheraphy and clear the baggage tats in your nogg''n but sheesh, Ms T has got me even thinking more now ... sigh .. wonder if I can negotiate a free session for my next appointment .

Would wanna write abit more but think I'll blog it later, am finally feeling KINDA kkanackered .. WHOP-DEE-DOO ... it's 8.30 a.m. .. I'll just blame this insomnia episode on the damn expresso, should've known better ....

problems with the 'B' on the lappy ... my badd ...

Thoughts...

Now Playing: 6 a.m. BBC World Service
The Killers - Somebody Told Me

Well, in my opinion it always seems that that in times of crisis, sorrow and despair does humanity of the world shine through. Wonder why this can't be seen on an everyday basis. It is a tragedy. God will send his Angels ...

Someting still seems to bugging me, though I think I may know what it maybe but erm ... don't think I really can say exactly what it is . Everything may seem to be the same on the surface , but when you start peeling this very complex onion of life you start to realise whom and what people are. There are vines that seem to be intertwined and some that lead to nowhere. Sigh ...

Note: if this seems to be abit of an excercise in grammar ramling, indeed it is, and it's one of the few ways I can get stuff of this very vacant brain of mine.
